SEMI PERMANENT MAKE UP
What is Semi-Permanent Makeup?
Semi-Permanent Makeup is broadly known as or SPMU. It is the process and procedure that implants coloured pigments in the upper dermis of the skin, to create the appearance of makeup or simply more definition of certain facial features.
Micropigmentation may be thought of as a ‘new’ procedure but has been around for many generations and can be traced back as far as the Egyptians who would graze their skin and rub dirt into it, to create colour in their cheeks. Modern methods now are much more precise, gentle, more comfortable for the client and can produce beautiful results.
The pigment is implanted using sterile needle(s) at various depths, generally between 1.5-2mm below the skin’s surface, depending on the procedure and the area of the face that is being treated. Micropigmentation / SMPU is similar to receiving a conventional tattoo, however the pigment is not quite the same and it is not implanted as deep. This therefore allows for a much more natural look, which fades over time allowing you to continue to adjust your treatment regime to suit.
